For over 17 years, the Aboriginal School of Dance has inspired audiences and communities through the power of movement, story, and spirit. Recognized as a leader in multicultural entertainment and Indigenous educational programming, the School proudly serves 13 school divisions and more than 100 organizations across Canada and beyond.

Our performances and programs embody the heartbeat of culture — blending traditional teachings with contemporary choreography to create experiences that are both visually captivating and deeply meaningful. The result is an energetic, emotional, and transformative connection that resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

At its foundation, the Aboriginal School of Dance stands on the values of integrity, respect, and community. Every performance and workshop reflects the traditional teachings that remind us of our purpose: to uplift, educate, and unify through the language of dance.

We also take great pride in ensuring that every member of our team represents the highest standard of professionalism and safety. All Aboriginal School of Dance instructors, managers, and staff are required to complete annual Criminal Record Checks and Child Abuse Registry verifications. This commitment ensures that every client — from schools to community organizations — can feel confident that our instructors are positive, trusted, and inspiring role models for all participants.

Founded by Buffy Handel, an accomplished dancer, choreographer, and entrepreneur, the Aboriginal School of Dance has become a nationally recognized model of how art, education, and culture can move in harmony. Our work continues to honour Indigenous roots while empowering future generations to lead with confidence, creativity, and pride.
